An outbreak of hepatitis A in Vinnytsia region: another wave of morbidity is predicted

The situation with the incidence of hepatitis A in Vinnytsia region is stable. However, it is too early to say that hepatitis A has declined. Epidemiologists and doctors predict another wave of disease.
Tetyana Bondarenko, deputy director of the department of health care and rehabilitation of the Vinnytsia OVA, reported this.
“For the last two weeks, we have seen a plateau in incidence. However, this does not indicate that hepatitis A has declined.
Now is precisely the period when, according to the forecasts of epidemiologists and doctors, there may be another wave of morbidity.” – emphasized the representative of the Department of Health Protection and Rehabilitation of Vinnytsia Oblast.

The department notes that from the beginning of the epidemic situation to November 21, 350 reports of patients were registered in the region. In the last day, 4 new cases were recorded in the region. Currently, 34 patients are receiving inpatient treatment, of which 9 are children.
“We have one serious patient. He is a 50-year-old patient who has been in the hospital for a month. He has many concomitant pathologies. There are 516 contacts of domestic outbreaks under the supervision of family doctors.” – said Tetyana Bondarenko.
We will remind you that earlier we wrote that the source of the outbreak of hepatitis A in Vinnytsia region has not yet been established, but the Ministry of Health has assumptions.
