An outbreak of hepatitis A in Vinnytsia region: the number of patients has increased

New cases of hepatitis A infection were recorded in Vinnytsia. However, the rate of infection is gradually decreasing.
This was reported in the Vinnytsia Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Currently, the number of patients reaches 285. Of them, 247 cases are laboratory-confirmed. 46 patients are treated on an outpatient basis.
The occupancy of beds allocated for patients with viral hepatitis A decreased to 18.4%.

Territories of the region organized vaccination against the disease. So far, it has been done to 602 people – 554 medical workers and 48 contact persons.
Specialists also conduct water analysis, inspect markets, shops and confectionery shops.
We will remind you that an outbreak of hepatitis A was recorded in Vinnytsia region on October 24 – at that time, 74 cases of infection were registered.
The number of patients continued to grow, due to which schoolchildren were transferred to distance learning.
On October 31, a state of emergency was declared in the Vinnytsia region due to an outbreak of infection.
According to the latest data, isolated cases of hepatitis A were recorded in Ternopil (1), Zakarpattia (11) and Dnipropetrovsk (3) regions.
