The Ukrainian Center for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education reminded which types of appeals regarding the passing of the national multi-subject test are foreseen this year, and which are not. Photo: ArturVerkhovetskiy/Depositphotos In contrast to previous years, when an important component of the ZNO tests were open-form tasks with a short or extended answer, the answers to which were checked by examiners, the NMT does not contain tasks of this type: all its tasks require a choice of answers from among the offered options , and that is why they are checked by machine,” explained the UTSOYAO. The possibility to appeal the content of the tasks of the certification work on a certain subject or the correctness of the answers in 2023 is also not provided for. “Therefore, appeals and appeals of the participants regarding the content of the test tasks are not considered at the meeting of the appeal commission. At the same time, we will emphasize that, as in previous years, when an error is detected in some task of the test, this fact is taken into account when determining the results in order to ensure the equality of all test participants,” reminded the UTSOYAO. Earlier we wrote that this year in one a technical error was found in the mathematics tasks, due to which it had two correct answer options. A point for its completion was awarded to everyone who provided one of them. What types of appeals can be filed According to the procedure for conducting the NMT-2023 appeals: can be filed regarding: violations testing procedures in a temporary examination center (TEC); refusal to register for participation; non-admission to passing additional sessions. The UTSOYAO states that if participants believe that certain facts during the NMT could have affected the reliability of the results, then it is also possible to file an appeal. “However, note that such an application had to be submitted on the day of testing before leaving the CHP. The regulatory commission at the regional center for evaluating the quality of education studied the situation/documents of the CHP and made a decision to satisfy/disapprove the appeal,” the educators add. If the test participants do not agree with the decision of the regulatory commission, which concerns the refusal of registration, it can also be appealed through a submission appeals. The Appellate Commission at the UTSOYAO accepted similar applications this year. NMT participants also had the opportunity to appeal the commission’s decision on whether or not to participate in testing during additional sessions. “The application had to be sent to the email address of the appeal commission no later than three calendar days later from the date the regional center sends the contested decision of the regulatory commission,” emphasized the UTSOYAO. The commission considered such an application within five working days from the moment of its receipt. The date of submission in electronic form is the day of sending the incoming letter recorded in the electronic inbox of the appeal read also: NMT-2023: how and where to find out the results of the main session
