Bloomberg learned about the Harry Potter series from HBO

Warner Bros. Discovery is in talks to film a TV series based on the Harry Potter books with their author Joan Rowling. This is reported by the Bloomberg agency with reference to two sources.

According to the interlocutors of the agency, the deal is close to completion. A separate season is planned for each of the seven books. Rowling is expected to be involved in the series in order to guarantee its authenticity. At the same time, she will not lead the process or act as the main creator of the series, sources say. The series will be filmed by HBO, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery.

Previously Warner Bros. made eight films based on Harry Potter books. According to Box Office Mojo, they have collected more than 7.7 billion dollars at the global box office.

The series of books about Harry Potter, the first of which was published in 1997, became the bestseller of all time. The books were translated into 85 languages ​​and sold 600 million copies, according to the American publisher Scholastic Corp.
