In Kyiv, a man was tried who fired a rubber gun – according to him, to drive away crows that were hunting squirrels. On April 8, 2023, he fired a shot from his own special vehicle “Fort-12R” in a place not designated for this purpose. He admitted his guilt. According to data from the Unified Register of Court Decisions, the man was fined UAH 1,700, and the weapon was confiscated. “At the court hearing, the man admitted his guilt in the indicted administrative offense, supported his written explanations in the case file dated 04/08/2023, noting that he fired a rubber pistol to drive away crows that were hunting squirrels,” the court’s ruling reads. It is about shooting with firearms or cold projectile weapons “in populated areas and in places not designated for this purpose.” The court found the man guilty of committing an offense and “for educational purposes” imposed a fine with the confiscation of the seized “Fort-12R” weapon.
