A dentist and an anesthesiologist who removed the teeth of 5-year-old Veles Pashnyk, after which the boy dieddid not have the necessary qualifications to treat children.

This was announced at the meeting of the clinical expert commission, informs ZAXID.NET.

5-year-old boy fell into a coma after an operation to remove milk teeth, doctors soon declared brain death. A month later, the child died.

According to the head of the clinical-expert commission of the health care department of Lviv OVA, deputy director of the department Volodymyr Chornia, the meeting was attended by the boy’s father, lawyers, representatives of health care institutions, as well as a dentist and an anesthesiologist of a private clinic.

The commission established that the doctors provided medical assistance to Veles without having the necessary qualifications.

“Significant shortcomings were found during the provision of medical care to Veles. The main thing is that the doctors – anesthesiologist and dentist – did not have the appropriate qualifications to provide such care to the child.

They should have children’s dentistry and children’s anesthesiology, and there was adult dentistry and adult anesthesiology. They did not have a special certificate to treat children.” – noted Black.

The director of the clinic did not come to the commission meeting.

“It is so frivolous to intervene in human life, in children’s life, like these young doctors… Is it the times, or are the people like this, or is their education like this. They did not have an anesthesiological nurse, there were no certificates for working with children, the doctor- the dentist did not have a license for children’s dentistry and a surgical license, because this is surgery under anesthesia.” said the boy’s father Viktor Pashnyk.

Currently, this case is subject to open proceedings under Part 2 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – improper performance of professional duties by a medical or pharmaceutical worker.

“UP. Life” appealed to the police regarding the reclassification of the case and is waiting for a response.
