The building of the Kyiv cinema “Zhovten” was defaced with paint by unknown persons. They wrote homophobic statements on the cinema wall and city lights.
As reported in the cinema, this was done because of the upcoming screening of the Ukrainian film “Lessons of Tolerance”, in which society’s attitude towards the LGBT topic is mocked.
“While our nation is fighting for its freedom, for freedom of expression, democracy, for respect for personal choice, some of our fellow citizens still support Russian narratives, because it is there that they persecute and ban representatives of the LGBT community“, the message says.
Despite everything, the theater urges people to watch Arkady Nepytalyuk’s comedy-satirical film “Lessons of Tolerance”, as well as “to read books, get acquainted with scientific studies, so as not to be ashamed of human cavemanship again.”

The tape should be released in Ukrainian cinemas on February 14. The film is based on the play “Gay Parade” by Ihor Bilitsa.
