During the NMT-2023, the Russians carried out hacker attacks on the network and computers of the participants. The director of the Ukrainian Center for Evaluation of the Quality of Education, Tetyana Vakulenko, said this in an interview with “New Ukrainian School”. She noted that the comments of the participants regarding technical problems during testing are fair. “We encountered a large number of hacker attacks, most of which were from the territory of Russia. Criminals tried to overload our testing system, which is why it hung,” Vakulenko explained. But on some days, more than 140,000 simultaneous requests came to the main page. “In this way, hackers tried to overload our server with numerous requests. Therefore, there were participants who had difficulties logging into the system and saving results,” she adds. The director of UTSOYAO noted that in situations where the computers froze, the participants were given more time to complete the tasks. In critical cases, it was allowed to participate in an additional session of NMT. It will be recalled that earlier the director of the Ukrainian National Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities called NMT-2023 “unprecedented in terms of the number of cases of dishonesty”.
