Subsidized narcotic and psychotropic drugs, the cost of which is partially or fully reimbursed from local budgets, will also be issued only with e-prescriptions. A repeated e-prescription can be obtained remotely from the doctor who is responsible for the patient’s treatment. It can be a family doctor, a surgeon, an oncologist or a neurologist. You can buy medicines with an e-prescription in pharmacies that have a license to dispense narcotic and psychotropic drugs. The Ministry of Health notes that today 100% of such pharmacies work in the Electronic Health Care System. Electronic prescriptions for narcotic drugs began to be used in November 2022. According to the Ministry of Health, more than 57 thousand of them have been formed since then. Previously, this category of drugs was dispensed by paper prescriptions, which were valid for 10 days. This made it difficult to treat patients who had to take narcotic and psychotropic drugs for a long time. As a reminder, the implementation of electronic prescriptions began in August 2022. Antibiotics became the first medicine. Narcotic and psychotropic drugs will be issued by e-prescription from November 2022. From April 1, 2023, an electronic prescription became mandatory for all prescription drugs.
