Epidemic of high intensity: Uzhgorod schools are closed for quarantine

Schools in Uzhgorod close the quarantine. It will be valid from February 5 to 9.
The epidemic situation in the city is classified as an epidemic of high intensity with an epidemic threshold exceeded by 80.1%, the city council reported.
“Currently, a sharp complication of the epidemic situation with the incidence of SARS and influenza is recorded in Uzhhorod – 1985 cases of diseases were registered during the week. Compared to last week, this is more by 69.5%, also note the circulation of COVID-19 and influenza type A and B“, the message says.
The quarantine also applies to city art and sports schools. The exception is individual classes. Children’s preschools will work as usual.

The city council adds that 55.5% of the sick are children. The incidence of school-age children increased by 2.3 times.
Also, the number of people hospitalized in the city’s medical facilities increased by 36.3%. 85% of them are children.
