In Lviv, the rehabilitation of patients after a spinal cord injury involves trainers-mentors who have successful experience of adapting to life with such an injury and who use a wheelchair.
They interact with patients from the first day of their admission to the hospital: they share their experiences, educate and support patients with spinal cord injuries.
“Become a reliable support for them in the first weeks after the injury and accompany them throughout the entire recovery process.
Mentor trainers help our patients adapt to new circumstances and adapt to daily life. Teaches to overcome limitations and obstacles that people face after spinal cord injury” — they say in “Unbreakable”.

The “equal to equal” method aims to demonstrate by its own example that an active and social life is possible, even when using a wheelchair.

“It is a very useful thing that we do. After all, it allows the patient to leave the hospital with an understanding of what he should do with his life in the future, how to socialize and adapt to his condition and generally continue an active life.” – convinces trainer-mentor Vira Kalitovska.

The Center notes: working with a coach-mentor is an extremely important component of the process of recovery and adaptation to everyday life and society, because it helps a person to accept new circumstances and become independent.
