Europeans received the first photo of the Earth from space with the help of a new satellite

Scientists have shown the first photo of the Earth from the new European satellite Flexible Combined. The picture shows Europe, Africa and the Atlantic with a high level of detail.

This is proof that the satellite can show a much more accurate forecast of worsening weather, reports Space.

“This image is a great example of what European cooperation in space can achieve.” – said the director of the Earth observation programs of the European Space Agency ESA, Simonetta Cheli.

Scientists claim that the image will help to understand our planet better.

In the photo you can see Northern and Western Europe, Scandinavia, where the weather is cloudy. Also Italy and the Western Balkans, where it is relatively sunny.

Visible in the photo are cloud vortices circling over the Canary Islands and snow covering the Alps. You can even see deposits in the water along the coast of Italy.

As noted in ESA, the new image is much clearer than from previous satellites.

The MTG-I1 telescope also made observations of cloud structures at high latitudes. This will help weather forecasters track weather deterioration in these regions of the globe. After all, the level of detail of the clouds in the image is very important for the work of forecasters.

The system of the new satellite, scientists say, will create an image of the entire disk of the Earth every 10 minutes after it is fully launched, that is, scientists will be able to receive photos more often than with previous devices.

It will be recalled that French scientists discovered for the first time that the only natural satellite of the Earth, the Moon, actually has a solid core consisting of iron. Previously, it was believed to be liquid.
