The survey took place in “Dia” from March 29. Every Ukrainian over the age of 14 could vote for one member of the jury from the list of candidates.

As the Public Broadcaster reported, more than 724,000 Ukrainians participated in the voting time.

Further, based on the voting results, a rating of the candidates will be formed in the jury – the five candidates with the highest number of ratings will be able to join the jury. The head of the national jury will automatically be the candidate who received the most support from the survey participants.

The composition of the national jury will be announced May 13.

Ukrainians could choose from such candidates as ROXOLANA, Olena Grebenyuk, Mykhailo Klymenko, Amador Lopez, Tonya Matvienko, Oleksandr Fozzi Sydorenko, Oleg Sobchuk, Svitlana Tarabarova, Yevhen Khmara and Olena Shoptenko.

Eurovision 2023 was supposed to be held in Ukraine, because in 2022 the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra won the contest with the song Stefania. This was Ukraine’s third victory in the international song contest.

However, in June, the organizer of the competition, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), published a statement that it would not hold the next competition in Ukraine for security reasons. In July, the EBU and the BBC confirmed that Eurovision 2023 will be held in Great Britain instead of Ukraine.
