Free psychological courses are launched for people affected by the war

The Prometheus platform launched psychological courses for people affected by the war. They were developed by specialists of the Ukrainian Catholic University and experienced practicing psychologists. The new information is also intended for both specialists and ordinary Ukrainians. For example, a course on war-related sexual violence would be useful for representatives of the National Police, prosecutors, local governments, etc. Photo: bondarillia/Depositphotos Registration is already open for the following courses: “How to combat war-related sexual violence and provide professional assistance to victims: a guide for professionals”; “Combating war-related sexual violence and assisting victims: what everyone needs to know”; “Traumatic experience and PTSD: a toolkit for a psychotherapist”; “How to adapt in a new place? Course of psychological reintegration of IDPs”. There is a similar course aimed at directly helping people who have suffered from violence, as well as volunteers, journalists, representatives of public organizations, etc. “Since the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, sexual violence related to the war has become very visible and has become widespread. There is a lot of talk about it, but they do not always realize the full complexity of the phenomenon, do not understand its impact on the lives of the victims and their environment, often they don’t know about the need to treat them in a gender-sensitive manner,” the organizers say about the significance of the course. Psychotherapists can also register for a course on traumatic experiences and PTSD, and IDPs can register for a course on psychological reintegration. For Ukrainians who have lost their homes and are forced to settle in a new place, they will tell: how to adapt to the situation; find a new job; reduce internal anxiety; what help the community can count on.
