From the home front or the occupation: Ukrainian doctors can consult with foreign colleagues regarding the treatment of patients

Ukrainian doctors who are on the home front or under occupation can consult with colleagues from abroad regarding the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This can be done using the HealUA application. To consult with foreign specialists, doctors from Ukraine must register in the application. After that, you can create a request in the system. To do this, it is necessary to: briefly describe the symptoms of the disease and the patient’s complaints; indicate which doctor’s consultation is necessary for diagnosis. Photo: photographee.eu/Depositphotos “Specialists of the chosen specialty will receive a notification on the phone and will be able to share advice on treatment and diagnosis,” the authors of the project explain. Specialists of a narrow profile can be involved in diagnostics – for example, surgeons, dermatologists, cardiologists, etc. Currently, the application is used by 1,737 doctors (66 of whom are doctors from the USA and Europe). The application is available in Ukrainian and English, which allows doctors from abroad to give advice to Ukrainian doctors. The application was created by Ukrainian doctors together with colleagues from Harvard. It was launched during the war – in May 2022 – to facilitate the work of doctors in front-line cities, as well as in the rear and occupation.
