Law enforcement officers are investigating the death of Ukrainian serviceman Yury Galkin from Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, who died in a road accident on February 8. The man returned to Ukraine as part of the exchange of prisoners of war on January 31, 2024.

“UP.Zhyttia” was informed about this by the press service of the Dnipro police.

Galkin got under the wheels of a truck in Dnipro. The driver of the vehicle was sober. The soldier was crossing the road near the intersection.

The law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings, within the framework of which a number of examinations have already been ordered. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

In a comment to “Hromadskyi”, Valeria said that she did not even have time to see her father, because he was taken to rehabilitation.

My dad is gone. He was killed neither by war, nor by a bullet, nor by 2 years in captivity. He was just crossing the road and was hit by a car. I was waiting for your call, as you promised, but I can’t wait anymore“, she wrote.

It will be recalled that on January 31, junior sergeant Zakhar, whose family was killed in a rocket attack on a high-rise building in Dnipro, was also released from Russian captivity.

And on February 8, Ukraine returned home another 100 of its defenders. It is known that this was the 51st exchange.
