Helped many students choose a profession: Ukrainian teacher-philosopher Serhii Kurbatov died

Serhiy Kurbatov, a Ukrainian researcher of university education, cultural researcher, Doctor of Philosophy, researcher at the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, died. This was reported in the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Serhii Kurbatov was born in 1971 in Sumy in a family of engineers. In 1994, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of History of the Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical Institute. He worked as a history teacher, and later as a philosophy teacher. Defended two theses, author of two monographs, five chapters in collective monographs and more than 140 scientific publications. On the scientist’s page, his students and friends express their condolences on his death and remember Serhiy Kurbatov as an interesting and talented person. Serhii Kurbatov “I am grateful to my teacher for not letting me remain a hard-nosed person and forever deprived me of the opportunity to become an ideological fan of any concept. I think that he taught hundreds of schoolchildren, and later thousands of students, to think on a large scale, collect data, draw conclusions and be able to to hear a second opinion without losing one’s truth,” writes user Anna Lokshin User Nadiya Esmanova says that it was thanks to her school teacher Serhiy Kurbatov that she chose her future profession. Another student of Serhiy Kurbatov, Serhii Shkolyarenko, is also grateful to his teacher for the professional teaching of subjects. “My school teacher of history and the basics of jurisprudence died. A kind and bright person. He was really passionate about the subjects he taught. We were one of his first students. He came to us right after university. It is thanks to his talent that I still remember studying the basics of the Constitution with warmth,” writes user Serhiy Shkolyarenko. User Veronika Pugach writes that shortly before his death Serhii Kurbatov planned to create a high-quality introductory course in philosophy according to the best American standards. “It is so unexpected to hear that he passed away. He was so full of plans and inspiration to realize a great goal, to return to philosophy, to make a significant contribution to Ukrainian philosophical education,” she writes. Serhiy Kurbatov also wrote Japanese hoku poems, which he shared with his readers on social networks. One of the teacher’s last remarks was as follows: Our time is inexorably passing through this evening. The philosopher’s burial will take place in Sumy, where his parents live.
