In Australia, a woman who threw her dog from the roof of a shopping center was jailed for 10 months. The prosecutor’s office called the crime “flagrant, heartless and cruel.” She was also banned from owning pets for 10 years.
According to The Telegraph, video footage obtained by the police and animal welfare investigators shows how a woman threw a dog off the roof of a shopping mall (9 meters high) during an argument with her boyfriend.
A man found an injured 10-year-old Maltese on the asphalt near a shopping center. He assumed the dog had been hit by a car and immediately took her to the vet. From the information on the animal’s microchip, he found out the phone number of the owner – she turned out to be 26-year-old Amy Leah Judge. The owner of the dog and her boyfriend, Scott Frost, came to the clinic to discuss the costs of treating the animal, but decided to euthanize it.
Amy Leah Judge wrote on social media that “can’t live with the guilt” and this secret “tears it apart“.

“I did the animal a favor, because until now I only hurt and abused it“, – added Judge.
Scott Frost was also punished – he was fined for not taking measures to protect the dog and banned from owning animals for three years.
Royal Society for the Protection of Animals (RSPCA) public inspector Kylie Green said the case was the “worst” she had seen in her 11 years on the job.
“Dogs are trusting and rely on their owners to protect them. I cannot imagine a more heinous betrayal of that trust” said Ms. Green.
