Before the full-scale invasion, Tetiana worked as a realtor in Odessa, her profile was the sale of apartments. Before that, she ran a small business, had her own women’s clothing store.
“When the Great War began, earnings from the sale and rental of housing fell sharply, and later the real estate registers were also closed. Even now, when there is access to this information again, people are very careful when selling or buying apartments in Odessa. Therefore, I had to look for additional a source of income,” Tatyana shares.
A woman has been driving for 20 years. She says that she likes driving, but working in the service turned out to be a little more difficult than she imagined. Currently, she works in a fleet that cooperates with Uklon.

“Although I admit, I don’t know what exactly brought me to Uklon. Probably the desire to try something new. At first I worked in one fleet, and a year later I moved to another, where cars are of a higher class,” says the driver.
She has been working for a year and 4 months. She says she was convinced that the work was temporary, but the flexible schedule and “living” income became decisive advantages for the woman.
“I work two days every other day, that is, 15 days a month. This gives me free time that I can devote to myself, family and home. In my free time, I even manage to work as a realtor if there are clients,” says Tatyana.
The woman has two children: a daughter – 23, and a son – 16. She jokingly notes that she works “for her son”, that is, a significant part of her earnings goes to clubs and tutors for the child.
“I love people very much and I try to treat them the way I would like them to communicate with me. I even address fastidious passengers with a difficult character with a smile and humor, so I never bring the situation to conflicts,” he shares the secret of success.
Despite the stereotypes about women driving, all customers have positive feedback about the experience of traveling with Tatyana.

She adds that one of the advantages of the Uklon service for male and female drivers is that the driver can customize the order for himself and choose the areas where he will go.
“I don’t drive long distances, on the outskirts or outside the city, either. I already know my “district” perfectly – where the traffic lights are and where the potholes are. But the traffic in the city is by no means the best,” says Tetyana in a truly Odessa manner . – “Many drivers are cut off, overtaken, may not miss. But I drive carefully, I do not break the rules, even at the request of passengers,” she adds with a smile.
The men in the car park gladly received their colleague. Tatyana remembers that at first she had a small income and constantly visited the suburbs. Her colleague helped set up the Uklon app for more convenient ordering.

The driver notes that some of her colleagues have moved into the category of acquaintances, with whom she sometimes calls and discusses work and life situations.
The driver said that she has many favorable reviews from passengers. One of the most memorable is from a girl who was traveling with a dog. She wrote that it was the best trip of her life.
“I love animals very much, so it doesn’t matter to me whether it’s cats, dogs or their size. We talked about animals with that girl the whole way, and her dog licked me from head to toe at the end,” the driver laughs.
Tatiana adds that kind words and good reviews are very motivating to work even when it seemed that she was not in the mood.

In the 2000s, Elena’s husband bought a plot of land in Rusanivske Sady in Kyiv and built two houses there. One of them was rented out for vacation, so many household chores fell directly on the woman’s shoulders. Together with the assistant, they took care of the house and the yard.
“In 2010, I had a granddaughter – my daughter was only 19 and she had to continue her education. That’s why I took care of the upbringing, health and education of the child. During the 10 years of her life, I mastered the skills of a therapist, teacher, coach,” he jokingly notes Elena
But a year ago, Elena’s husband filed for divorce. In order to have additional income, she started cooperation as a driver with the Uklon service. Later, the woman got another 2 jobs with a flexible schedule. He uses the car together with his daughter, so he leaves for a few hours when there is time.

“I’ve been driving for 26 years. Over the past few months, I’ve mastered the style of taxi drivers. Before, I honestly didn’t understand why they were such brats who constantly cut corners and overtake sharply. But now I know – the client must be transported safely, but quickly. Besides, work very exhausting if you spend all day behind the wheel!” – says Olena.
Olena also mentions the lack of parking spaces, public toilets and a sedentary lifestyle among the disadvantages of her work. And the biggest problem for a motorist is traffic jams.

At the same time, working in the service is not a gold mine, it is work that, in addition to earning, has its own costs. For example, the money I receive for the trip is not a net profit, because you have to calculate the depreciation of the car and fuel. But if you consider driving as a part-time job, it’s a great option,” the driver says about cooperation with Uklon.
The woman adds that the service itself is convenient for both drivers and customers.
To earn more, you have to wake up at 5 in the morning – when trips are more expensive due to fewer drivers. It’s the same in the evening, closer to the curfew, when clients want to go home,” Olena says.
When asked what she is afraid of, the woman answers with a laugh: “Nothing.”

“Orders have never been canceled due to the fact that a woman is driving. On the contrary, girls and women are very happy for me, because for them it is safety and comfort,” the driver notes.
Male colleagues in the fleet perceive women in the team very positively. If they sit with her as passengers, they share secrets and leave a tip.

Tatyana from Poltava has two sons and a retired mother, so she is the only breadwinner in the family. Until 2020, she worked at ATB and traveled to the Czech Republic to earn money, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned to Ukraine.
“In 2020, my son started first grade, so I needed a flexible schedule. This is how I have been working as a driver for the fourth year – every day from 6 in the morning until curfew with a break for lunch,” says the woman.
Tatyana notes that there is enough money, but she would like to receive more. Currently, the driver works in a fleet that cooperates with Uklon.

“It was difficult for me to come to terms with working behind the wheel in the service, in particular because of fear. I am afraid of drunk and inadequate passengers, but I have to overcome myself,” she says.
In case of danger, the functionality of the Uklon application provides the possibility to use the “SOS button” – emergency message about the need for help. Uklon also provides life and health insurance for all trip participants in case of traffic accidents in the amount of up to UAH 1 million for each trip.

At the same time, during these 3 years of work, clients have never once refused to go with a woman, on the contrary, the drivers were happy.
“I wanted to drive a car since I was a child, I even dreamed that I was driving. When I was a child, I often asked to sit in the driver’s seat to hold the steering wheel and dream,” the driver recalls.
Tatyana notes that she does not take trips outside the city for safety reasons. But she adds that fellow drivers at the beginning of her “career” supported the driver in every possible way. When they saw in the car park that Tatiana was going out of town, they called her and asked if she was safe.
“I get the most positive feedback from women – they say that it’s calmer, safer and more confident to drive with me,” the driver adds inspiredly.
