In a year and a half, the number of people with disabilities in Ukraine increased by 300,000 – Ministry of Social Policy
During the year and a half of the full-scale invasion, the number of Ukrainians with disabilities increased by 300,000. Previously, 2.7 people with disabilities lived in Ukraine, and now this figure has reached 3 million. This was announced by the Minister of Social Policy, Oksana Zholnovych, at the opening of the “All-Ukrainian Center for Complex Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities”, Ukrinform reports. The minister says that Ukraine needs more rehabilitation specialists, various centers and departments that would help people with injuries to restore functionality. At the same time, according to Zholnovich, there are almost no funds left for the rehabilitation centers due to defense needs, so the support of international partners is important.
