In Bukovina, an HIV-infected man was imprisoned for raping his minor daughter

In Bukovina, a local resident who raped, molested, and also exposed an 11-year-old daughter to the risk of HIV infection was convicted.
The man was sentenced to 15 years behind bars, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
The law enforcement officers established that in March-October 2022, taking advantage of the absence of his wife and sons, the defendant molested his minor daughter.

It is known that since 2016, the man has been under medical supervision with the immunodeficiency virushuman it and viral hepatitis C.
“By committing violent acts of a sexual nature against the child, he knew about his illnesses and was aware of the consequences”– noted in the OGP.
The man did not admit his guilt in the courtroom.
The father of many children was sentenced to 15 years in prison, having been found guilty of:
- knowingly placed at risk of infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code);
- rape (Part 6 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code);
- and depravity of a minor child (Part 2 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code).
“Currently, the prosecutor’s office is studying the validity and motivation of the decision and the possibility of appealing it.” – informed the department.
They added that information about the convict was also entered into the register of pedophiles.
