In Iran, a university security guard hit one of the female students with her head on the stairs after a verbal dispute. A viral video of a man beating a girl has gone viral and sparked outrage among students. The incident happened last week at one of the faculties of Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran, VICE News reports. The video shows the guard verbally abusing the women and then pushing the student’s head towards the stairs. Iranian state media reported that university authorities called the incident a “provocation” by students who tried to disrupt “peace” in the exam hall. Representatives of the university added that the incident is being investigated. At the same time, student groups from other educational institutions condemned this incident. In particular, the collective of students of Allameh Tabatabai University published a statement of protest. “They can break our heads, but they will not be able to erase the idea of freedom from our minds and the belief in victory from our hearts,” the students said.
