In Khmelnytskyi, the court found a 21-year-old local resident guilty of premeditated murder, combined with sexual violence, rape, theft and theft of documents. The court sentenced him to 14 years in prison, according to the Office of the General Prosecutor. Prosecutors proved in court that in July 2022, in a deserted place at night, the boy saw a 16-year-old girl and tried to get to know her. Hearing the refusal, he pulled out a shoelace from his clothes and threw it around the girl’s neck and forcibly took her aside, after which he raped and then strangled her. According to the police of the Khmelnytsky region, the court found the boy guilty under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Clause 10, Part 2, Art. 115 (Intentional murder); Part 5 of Art. 152 (Rape); Part 4 of Art. 185 (Theft); Part 3 of Art. 357 (Theft of documents). He was sentenced to 14 years in prison and ordered to pay one million hryvnias in moral damages to the relatives of the deceased.
