In Kyiv, a man was detained who beat a store guard with a metal stick because of a remark. The victim suffered a brain injury and concussion.

The perpetrator was intoxicated reported in the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.

The situation happened in one of the supermarkets in the Solomyan district of the capital. The perpetrator was a 52-year-old native of Donetsk region.

The law enforcement officers established that the man entered the store in an intoxicated state, due to which the security guard made a remark to him.

The buyer left the store, and within an hour he returned there with a metal stick and began to beat the security guard with it. The attacker hit the victim about 20 times and ran away.

Doctors diagnosed the guard with an open craniocerebral injury and concussion.

As Kyiv police spokesman Dmytro Hryshchenko reported in a comment for “UP. Life”, the victim was not hospitalized, his condition is satisfactory.

During the day, operatives searched for and detained the intruder. According to the spokesman, the man was not prosecuted before.

Law enforcement officers informed him of the suspicion under part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm.

Currently, the court has chosen a preventive measure for the man in the form of non-alternative detention. He faces up to eight years in prison.
