A 38-year-old man who beat his mother because she refused to give him money was detained in Kyiv. The elderly woman was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Now the Kyivan faces up to eight years in prison, are reported at the Kyiv police.

Doctors called 102 and reported that there was an injured woman on one of the streets of the Obolon district, who had been beaten by her son during a quarrel.

As the law enforcement officers found out, the man was intoxicated and demanded money from his mother. When she refused, her son began to beat her.

“According to the doctors’ conclusion, the woman has a closed craniocerebral injury, fractured ribs and other bodily injuries”the police report.

In a comment to “UP. Life”, the spokeswoman for the police of Obolon district of Kyiv, Khrystyna Pyatnytska, reported that the injured woman is 60 years old.

The man was informed of suspicion of intentional grievous bodily harm (part 1 of article 121 of the Criminal Code). He is currently in custody.

The sanction of the article provides up to 8 years of imprisonment.
