Kyyanin was sentenced to a year of imprisonment for setting off fireworks during the war. Neighbors perceived the sounds of explosions during the flight of the Shaheds.

The man admitted his guilt and repented, reported in the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, on the evening of March 6, 2024, a 35-year-old man from Kyiv launched a salute from the window of an apartment in the Holosiivskyi district. There were four explosions.

“With his actions, the man not only violated the ban on the use of pyrotechnic products during martial law, but also scared the residents of neighboring houses, who decided that another attack by the military of the Russian Armed Forces was taking place.” – noted in the institution.

As Iryna Vynokurova, spokeswoman of the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, reported in a comment for “UP. Life”, this evening his friend came to visit the man. They dined and drank.

“The accused remembered that he had fireworks and decided to set them off. The peculiarity of these fireworks is that when they are set off they make sounds similar to Shaheda. The whole house was frightened. One of the neighbors has a small child who was very frightened because that the family ran to hide in the bathroom.

When it turned out that it was not “Shahedy”, but a neighbor having such fun, the police were immediately called. It was installed very easily, because all the neighbors understood who did it.”– said Iryna Vynokurova.

Kyyanin was tried under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He admitted his guilt and repented.

The court sentenced the man to 1 year of restraint of liberty with a 1-year probationary period.

We will remind, in June 2022, the Kyiv Council forbade sale and launch of wartime fireworks.

In August of the same year, the Verkhovna Rada supported draft law prohibiting the sale and use of fireworks throughout Ukraine.
