In Lviv, on July 6, a Russian rocket hit a four-story residential building, killing 4 people. On the 11th day after the tragedy, utility workers retrieved a surviving cat from under the rubble, which, despite dehydration and weakness, was able to survive. In a comment to “UP. Life”, the owner of the animal, Olga, said that on July 17, she was outside the house when her pet – the cat Churchill – was taken out from under a brick. The woman and her mother lived on the 4th floor. The box remained: all interior walls and the ceiling collapsed, the attic caved in,” the woman says. Currently, Olga lives in one of the modular towns of Lviv. “Rescuers and construction workers were on the rubble more than once, but Churchill did not make any sounds,” adds the Lviv woman. Churchill was examined by veterinarians and the case with him was called a “miracle.” She says that the cat was under a brick and was discovered by a builder. When the man took the rescued animal out into the street, the neighbors started talking about the owners of the cat – whose it might be, and they turned to Olga, who was standing nearby, with this question. Seeing her favorite, says the Lviv woman, tears welled up in her eyes. Olga Churchill has been living in Olga’s family for the past 11 years, Olga walked in on him on the street. “He really likes to be held and stroked, he is very tactile. There was another cat, he ran away. I saw him several times near the house, but after what happened, he is very stressed and does not go to my hands It was my mother’s cat, Churchill is more mine,” the woman adds. The cat was prescribed a special diet, rest, as well as a vitamin complex. Today, Olga lives with Churchill in a modular house. Despite general exhaustion, says the owner, the cat has a good appetite. According to veterinarians, the cat’s condition is normal, but now he needs a diet and vitamins. Olga says that now the furry one is in the carrier almost all the time. “I thought that he could have escaped and maybe somewhere in the district. But the fact that he is under the ruins of the apartment all these days… Little by little, the family is going to the pile,” says Olga.
