In the Lviv region, during a walk in the forest, a boy found ammunition from the Second World War and brought a dangerous find to adults.

The State Emergency Service says that it was not worth touching the projectile, because it could detonate at any moment. Instead, the place where he lies should have been shown to specialists.

“The child’s curiosity almost cost her her life”rescuers say.

In a comment to “UP. Life”, the specialist of the press service of the State Emergency Service of the Lviv Region, Yuliya Khilko, said that the boy who discovered the ammunition is approximately 7-8 years old, he is from the city of Skole.

The ammunition weighing 3,400 grams was lying on the ground. The boy brought it in his hands and handed it to men he knew.

He was walking in the forest and, having found an obsolete ammunition, he decided to give it to adults. However, the guy did not take into account that this is dangerous, because obsolete ammunition is “unstable” – after lying in the natural environment for more than 80 years, they can detonate even due to a small movement.”the spokeswoman said.

The next day, the explosive find was destroyed.

The rescuers remind the algorithm of actions in case of detection of ammunition or objects that look like ammunition: in no case should you touch them; you should warn about the discovery of people who are nearby; move away from the projectile at a safe distance – at least 100 meters; inform about the find by phone numbers 101 or 102.

Previously, the State Emergency Service showed landmines lying in the grass, which is why they cannot be noticed immediately.
