In Russia, the concerts of the rapper Loqiemean are canceled because of his anti-war stance. Ekaterina Myzulyna, head of the Safe Internet League, and a pro-Russian rapper from Mariupol complained about him to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to Myzulyna, Loqiemean concerts violate the rights and interests of children. She noted that the posters of the rapper’s performances in Moscow, Samara and Tyumen have already disappeared. “It is quite possible that he will be brought to administrative responsibility for discrediting the army and LGBT propaganda,” Myzulyna also wrote.
Earlier, Mariupol rapper Akym Apachev, who supports the invasion of Ukraine, complained about Loqiemean to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the SC, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the administration of the President of Russia. He openly threatens the platforms where Loqiemean concerts are supposed to take place.
After Russia’s attack on Ukraine, Loqiemean took part in an anti-war rally and wrote on social networks that he had no idea how it was possible to make music in Russia at such a moment, and that freedom of speech was shrinking “to the limits of one disgusting letter Z”. He has not yet commented on the current cancellation of concerts.
- After the full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine, the Russian authorities began to persecute cultural figures because of their opposition to the war. Many artists left their positions and platforms for performances, some went abroad.
