In Ternopil Oblast, a man broke the hip of his roommate’s 3-year-old son, and beat the 1-year-old

In the Ternopil region, a local 23-year-old resident was arrested, who is suspected of beating two minor sons of a roommate. Doctors diagnosed the older boy with a hip fracture.
According to the Head Office of the National Police of the Ternopil region, the doctors of the local hospital informed the law enforcement officers that two boys, aged 3 and 1, were hospitalized with multiple injuries.
Doctors diagnosed multiple hematomas in both children, and the older one also had a femur fracture.
Later, the police found out that the children lived with their 23-year-old stepfather. Their mother, a resident of Zakarpattia Oblast, left them with a roommate almost three months ago and went abroad, the police say.

In a comment to “UP. Life”, Serhiy Kreta, the spokesman for the police of the Ternopil region, said that the woman is a mother of many children. Her third – 10-year-old – son lives separately with a guardian.
“The mother went to Poland to earn money and left the children with a roommate who lived in another village”the spokesman added.
The children are currently under the supervision of doctors. Serhiy Kreta says that after recovery, their further fate will be decided by social services.
“We will solve the issue through social services. Most likely, they will not return to the husband.” – said the spokesman.
Police say the man denies abusing children.
He was detained on the charge of causing bodily harm of moderate severity (part 1 of article 122 of the Criminal Code).
The sanction of the article provides imprisonment for a term of up to three years.
