In the future, students of 9th grade will take the state final certification (DPA) of 5 subjects. The development of materials for them will begin in 2025.
This was reported by the director of the Ukrainian Center for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education Tetyana Vakulenko on Ukrinform TV.
According to her, the list of DPA subjects will include mathematics, the Ukrainian language, the history of Ukraine, a foreign language, and natural sciences.
In addition, they plan to add an oral part to the test tasks.
“At least from those subjects where it is very important. For example, the history of Ukraine and civic education is the field where it is important to speak, express yourself, and answer a question clearly.” Vakulenko explained.

However, exam materials for each subject will be developed in turn.
“We want to take one branch a year, pilot it, draw conclusions, and next year offer it to all students. Then we will take another branch for piloting. In this way, by 2027 we would have such an assessment for ninth graders.” – said the director of UTSOYAO.
Vakulenko also noted that the preparation of the DPA for 4th graders is planned next year. They will start with a small sample – 2 thousand students.
“To those institutions that agree to work with us, we will offer an assessment in mathematics and the Ukrainian language. When they conduct it, we will analyze how adequate our tests and questions are for the sample, whether it is easy for teachers to work them out in the classroom, how much time it takes. We want to have not only the test part, but also the oral part.” – remarked the director of UTSOYAO.
We will remind you that the Verkhovna Rada returned the history of Ukraine and a foreign language to the mandatory subjects of the state final certification.
