“Black archeologist” from the Kirovohrad region tried to sell a unique treasure with decorations of the 3rd century over the Internet. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine. It is known that the man unearthed a silver belt in the territory of Khmelnytskyi region. And later he exhibited the archaeological find on an Internet forum. There, the illegally appropriated treasure was purchased by one of the participants in the discussion. However, the illegal device was exposed by law enforcement agencies. The find was evaluated by specialists from the National Museum of the History of Ukraine. According to them, it dates back to the middle of the 3rd century. The decoration is related to the military culture of the ancient Germans during the period when they migrated from Northern Europe to the Black Sea through the territory of modern Ukraine. It emphasized a person’s high social position. Further, the recovered silver jewelry will be handed over for examination and preparation of conclusions regarding the legality of their origin. And after completion, they can be handed over to storage for museum funds. Recently, during the inspection of an international postal shipment that was headed from Kyiv to the USA, Kyiv customs officers discovered archaeological artifacts – eight authentic arrowheads, made from the period of pre-Christian Russia to the 14th century. And in November of last year, criminals tried to send mail from Zaporizhzhia forged and cast parts of medieval cold weapons from the second half of the 17th and 18th centuries to America.
