Smugglers who tried to illegally export ancient coins of the Roman Empire and the Crimean Khanate abroad were exposed in the Kyiv region. The couple from Fastov sent the artifacts under the guise of documents to the United States, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports. “Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv regional prosecutor’s office, two residents of Kyiv region were notified of suspicion of smuggling cultural values ​​(Part 2, Article 15, Part 2, Article 201 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” say law enforcement officers. According to the experts’ conclusion, the suspects sent 210 coins of the Roman Empire and the Crimean Khanate. The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the main administration of the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
