In the Ternopil region, the court sentenced a man who refused to be mobilized because of sick parents. This is stated in the verdict of Buchatsky district court of Ternopil region. On May 29, 2023, a conscript man passed the military medical commission, which found him fit for service. On the same day at 2 p.m., he received a summons for military service on mobilization. He said he was taking care of his sick parents and there were no other people who could do it. The man was accused of committing a criminal offense provided for in Art. 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, in evading conscription for military service during mobilization, for a special period. The accused admitted his guilt. The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 3 years in prison. However, he released him from serving a probationary sentence during the probationary period of 1 year.
