In the American state of Pennsylvania, the oldest Siamese twins in the world, Lori and George Schappelle, died. They were 62 years old.

The twins’ heart stopped April 7, while they were at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

The cause of death is not specified.

Lori and George were born on September 18, 1961. Doctors gave a dismal prognosis for their lives, as the twins had partially fused skulls that shared vital blood vessels and 30% of their brains.

According to doctors, the Siamese twins were not supposed to live to 30 years old.

They became the first identical twins in the world to identify themselves differently. In 2007, George recognizedconsidered himself transgender and began to present himself as a man.

He used to have the name Riba after the singer Riba McIntyre, because he didn’t like that the affectionate “Jodie” rhymed with his sister’s name, “Lori”.

It is noted that the twins lived in a two-room apartment in Pennsylvania.

Each of them had their own room. They spent the night in each of them in turn and tried to live their own lives.
