In Ukraine, DPA was canceled for 4th and 9th grades – Scarlet

In Ukraine, this year, like last year, the state final certification for students of the 4th and 9th grades was officially canceled. The Ministry of Justice conducted state registration of the order to cancel the DPA and returned the document to the Ministry of Education and Science, Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet announced on the air of the All-Ukrainian telethon on January 31. “Therefore, the 4th and 9th grades will not take the DPA,” the head of the Ministry of Education and Culture said. The state final certification will also be canceled for students graduating from the 11th grade, he added. Currently, the MES is waiting for the Verkhovna Rada to approve draft law 8228-1, which officially cancels the DPA and introduces an alternative to external independent assessment – the national multi-subject test. As a reminder, this year, as last year, graduates will take a multi-subject test of three subjects to enter the university. In 2023, the testing format was refined, giving applicants a choice of which subjects to take third. By the way, History of Ukraine was made an optional subject. At the same time, the discipline of choice will be considered “universal”, because with any set of subjects at NMT, a graduate can apply to any university for any specialty. In addition, the test organizers have slightly changed the technical characteristics of the NMT and the evaluation format. The latter caused a lot of dissatisfaction among experts.
