Provisions on cancellation of extramural and evening forms of education will be proposed in a separate draft law.

Roman Hryshchuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, told Ukrinform about this.

On November 8, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the State Final Attestation and Admission Campaign of 2024”, which regulates admission to higher education institutions next year.

In it, it was proposed to cancel recruitment for evening and correspondence forms of education. However, the parliament supported the draft law, taking into account the decision of the committee, where the mention of the cancellation of relevant forms of education was removed.

Hryshchuk noted that the adopted law refers only to the format of the national multi-subject test (NMT) in 2024.

“When this draft law was submitted, it contained a rule on the replacement of evening and correspondence forms of education with distance learning. However, during the preparation, some factions expressed their opposition, they did not want to vote for this draft law in both the first and second readings at once. And we needed to be faster to vote on the draft law on NMT so that everyone clearly understands the format of the next entry year.” – he explained.

At the same time, the cancellation of extramural and evening forms of education will be included in a separate draft law.

“The MES should work on it. They will be submitted by the CMU”, – remarked the People’s Deputy.
