The qualification confirmation procedure has been simplified for Ukrainian doctors who are forced to stay abroad and plan to work there. The relevant resolution was adopted by the government on February 17. The Ministry of Health clarified the document. As a result of the war, many doctors, nurses and other health care workers were forced to leave abroad and plan to temporarily work there. Photo: ArturVerkhovetskiy/Depositphotos To confirm qualifications abroad, you need to: apply for verification to the management body of the health care facility where you worked before leaving Ukraine; complete the questionnaire; provide scanned copies or photocopies of supporting documents (Ukrainian passport, education document). if available, it is worth adding: a specialist doctor’s certificate, a certificate of qualification and its improvement, a certificate of participation in professional development activities, a work book, a certificate of a trade union member. After checking the documents, the management body of the health care institution where the doctor worked before leaving Ukraine will carry out verification. The results will be entered into the electronic information. In the case of a positive result, doctors will receive a certificate of education, qualifications and professional experience (in Ukrainian and English) by email. The Ministry of Health emphasized that issuing such a document is a common practice for the countries of the European Union. “Several partner countries of Ukraine have already expressed their readiness to create a simplified employment procedure for Ukrainian medical workers. This practice will provide an opportunity to temporarily find employment in a specialty in foreign medical institutions,” the Ministry of Health emphasized. Medical, pharmaceutical and other health care workers have the opportunity to receive a simplified qualification confirmation procedure. Also, rehabilitation specialists, professionals with higher non-medical education who work in the field of health care will check the documents and make a decision on its result within 30 days from the day of receiving the application. As a reminder, Ukrainians are allowed to travel abroad during martial law for medical treatment.
