Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida has died

Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida died at the age of 95. This was reported by the newspaper La Repubblica. The cause of death is not disclosed.
Lollobrigida played in more than 60 films. Her most famous roles are Esmeralda in “The Cathedral of Paris” in 1956 and Adeline in the melodrama “Fanfan-Tulip” in 1952.
The actress was twice nominated for the “Golden Globe” award, in 1961 she received a statuette as the most popular foreign actress, and in 1995 she was awarded a special prize for outstanding contribution to world cinema. In 2018, a Lollobrigida star was unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: the 90-year-old actress attended the ceremony.
The last feature film with her participation was released in 1997. After completing her film career, Lollobrigida took up sculpture and photography. In 2022, she participated in the elections to the Italian Parliament, where she won a little more than 1% of the vote.
The actress spent the last few years alone in a villa near Rome. She had a garden in which hundreds of birds live – it was reported that their number reached 600.
