Las Vegas predicts a record number of weddings before the New Year: all because of the date

On the last day of 2023, a real “wedding boom” is predicted in the American Las Vegas. It can be caused by repeating digits in the date.

As AP News reports with reference to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the date – 12.31.23 – was nicknamed special in the American capital of entertainment, because the numbers (1-2-3) in it are not only repeated, but also arranged in sequence.

It is noted that on the eve of the new year 2024, the number of weddings in the city may reach a record number.

The previous “wedding boom” in Las Vegas took place on July 7, 2007, when 4,492 couples got married during the day.

Another most popular day for marriage was November 11, 2011, when families created 3,125 couples.

Despite interesting combinations of numbers in dates, the last days of December are often popular for weddings. Since 2018, 450 to 550 couples are getting married on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas.

“It is believed that it is double happiness to get married on the last day of the year, because if you combine them with New Year’s Eve, the celebration becomes almost eternal”says Melody Willis-Williams, president of a company that operates several wedding venues.

On the eve of the new year 2024, his agency alone will marry more than 120 couples, the man says.

“Five of these couples will become a family the moment the clock strikes midnight,” Willis-Williams added.
