In the USA, the 4-year-old spectacled bear Ben tried to escape from the St. Louis Zoo for the second time. The animal, which got out of its enclosure, was caught for about 50 minutes, according to the Facebook page of The Saint Louis Zoo. Last time, the rebellious bear already ran away on February 7 – then it took an hour and a half to search, writes CNN. “Ben came out of his enclosure again at around 1pm today. Zoo animal emergency response protocol was applied and various team members responded accordingly,” the zoo said. After the incident, zoo staff made the habitat even more secure by adding stainless steel cargo clamps with a 450-pound breaking strength, but that didn’t deter Ben. “We know that at four years old, Ben is young and adventurous,” the zoo said. The team promises to consult with experts from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) to make the bear’s habitat safer. Who is the spectacled bear?
