Military registration of women: what changes from October 1
[ad_1]
From October 1, 2023, women with medical and pharmaceutical education will be required to register for the military.
According to Order No. 313 of the Ministry of Defense, women who are fit for military service due to their health and age (from 18 to 60 years old) and have obtained a medical or pharmaceutical specialtyare subject to being registered as conscripts.
However, this does not mean mobilization for the army, it is voluntary.
Institutions of professional (vocational and technical), professional pre-university or higher education, which train women in the medical or pharmaceutical specialty, must submit lists of those who must register for military registration to the TCC two months before the end of their studies.
Women who received a medical or pharmaceutical education before December 30, 2022 and were not on military registration can get a job without registration until 2026.
Professions with which you need to register for the military
All women aged 18 to 60 who have a medical or pharmaceutical education or work in the following specialties: a doctor, a dentist, a midwife, a nurse, a pharmacist and a pharmacist, a research assistant, a head of health care units, etc., must register for the military.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that this norm is not new and has been in effect since 1992. Therefore, the majority of female doctors and female pharmacists are already on military registration. However, if they have not registered by this time, they must do so from October 1.
This will happen on a voluntary basis until 2026. After that, women will not be able to get a job without registering for the military.

Traveling abroad for women who have medical and pharmaceutical specialties and will be registered for military service from October 1 is currently not limited.
From October 1, women of some specialties related to military registration can, if they wish, also register for military registration in territorial recruitment and social support centers.
Initially, 14 such professions and specialties were approved, and later the list was expanded. Women of these specialties are NOT subject to mandatory military registrationbut they can do it at their own will.
How to register for military service
Women must register for the military independently. The registration procedure is carried out in the TCC on a voluntary basis.
Documents required for registration:
- application for registration;
- passport or ID card;
- ID number;
- a document on obtaining a specialty/profession;
- a work certificate indicating the specialty in which the woman works;
- children’s birth certificate/guardianship document;
- marriage certificate;
- 3×4 photo cards.
When a woman comes to the TCC to register for military service, a personal case is opened against her. Next, it should be sent to the medical commission, which will make a conclusion on fitness/unfitness for military service.
Women conscripted must undergo a medical examination, just like men: they must be examined by a surgeon, a therapist, a neurologist, a psychiatrist, an ophthalmologist, an otorhinolaryngologist, a dentist, and a dermatologist. The only difference is that women must also undergo an examination by a gynecologist.

Women on military registration will have the same responsibilities as men. They may be conscripted into military service or engaged to perform work to ensure the defense of the state in wartime.
Pregnant women and those on maternity leave will have a postponement from mobilization for up to three years. If a woman has already been drafted, she can be dismissed for the same reasons.

Also, a woman can get a deferment for caring for a child up to six years old, if this care is defined in a medical opinion.
Medical mothers receive the right to a deferral if they raise children independently, have three or more minor children or raise a child with a disability, as well as if their husband serves in the Armed Forces.
To do this, you need to visit your TCC and JV and provide all supporting documents.
What will happen if you do not register for military service from October 1
Women with a medical or pharmaceutical specialty will have 3 years until December 31, 2026 to register for the military.
