In memory of the heroes who gave their lives for independence, they plan to create a National Military Memorial Cemetery in Kyiv. They want to set it up in the Darnytsia Forestry near the “Bykivnyanski Moghily” nature reserve, Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko said. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, and the UINP are working on the corresponding project. The center was commissioned by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal. “The National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Bykivnyan Graves” is the largest burial place of victims of Stalinist repressions in Ukraine and a symbol of the collective memory of the Ukrainian people. Therefore, the concept of creating a memorial to those killed in the aggression of Russia within the Bykivnyan Forest and the area of Darnytsky Forestry, which is a continuation of the repressive imperial traditions of the Soviet government, is a logical continuation of the historical past of this territory,” he noted. But everyone is interested in this happening even faster,” Tkachenko adds. We will remind you that a cemetery was to be built on Lysia Gora in Kyiv. However, a draft decision to cancel the construction of a military cemetery in the center of the capital appeared on the website of the Kyiv City Council.
