NMT-2023: how to choose a category if you study abroad

When registering for the National Multi-Subject Test, the student must indicate his category, namely, select “graduate of previous years” or “graduate of the current year”. Each of the categories was explained in detail at the Ukrainian Center for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education. A “graduate of previous years” is a student who has a complete general secondary education and a corresponding document: a certificate of complete general secondary education or a certificate. For example, if you are currently studying in the 3rd or 4th year of college, but already have a document about education, then this category is just for you. If the student is studying at a school, gymnasium or lyceum or in the 1st or 2nd year of college and only this year will get a full general secondary education – it is worth indicating “graduate of the current year” and choose your educational institution from the list. Then the document confirming the information about the level of education obtained is a certificate from the place of study, which must state that you “completed your full general secondary education in (month) 2023 at (name of the educational institution).” If the student is abroad, continues distance learning in a Ukrainian institution and will receive a full general secondary education there in 2023, it is not necessary to select the category “in a foreign educational institution”. In this case, during registration, you should select “in an educational institution of Ukraine” from the list of proposed ones and download a certificate from the place of study about obtaining an education in a Ukrainian institution. “At the time of registration, it is indicated that only those entrants will study in a foreign educational institution who will obtain a full general secondary education this year in a foreign educational institution,” – emphasizes the UTSOYAO. If you will receive secondary education abroad this year, and not in Ukraine, you should upload a copy of a notarized translation of the certificate from the place of study, which will state that you will “complete general secondary education in (month) 2023 at (name of foreign institution) education)”.
