Pink flamingos have flown to the Tuzlovsk estuary national natural park in Odesa. At first, the birds circled over the reserve, and later landed on the lakes of Academician Zaitsev, the park’s Facebook page reports. National park employees counted 210 birds. “The main food for them now is an abundant layer of earthworms”, – they write in the reserve. Photo: Ivan Rusev In a comment to “Ukrainian Pravda. Life”, a researcher of the park, biologist Ivan Rusev said that pink flamingos can fly to any salty estuary where there is food. “Every year, they stay longer and longer in our reserve. This year, we have been observing them for more than a month,” the biologist said. According to his forecasts, flamingos will probably be in the national park all summer. We previously reported that bee-eating birds were spotted in the Tuzlovsk estuary national park in Odesa. Read also: Tuzliv estuaries.
