Playwright and screenwriter Nina Sadur died in Moscow. She was 73 years old.
Sadur was born on October 15, 1950 in Novosibirsk. The writer’s first publication was published in 1977 in the magazine “Siberian Lights”.
In 1983, Sadur graduated from the Gorky Literary Institute in Moscow, studied with writers Viktor Rozov and Inna Vishnevskaya.
In 1989, Sadur published a complete collection of plays “Chudnaya baba”. At the same time, Sadur became a member of the Writers’ Union of the USSR.
The first play “Chudnaya baba” was staged by the Student Theater of Moscow State University. Later, productions based on Sadur’s works were performed at Lenkom, the Yermolova Theater, and the Benefis Drama Theater.
Sadur is the author of scripts for films and TV series, including “Taxi Driver”, “Rostov Papa”, “I am You”.
In 1999, director Kirill Serebrennikov filmed the series “Swallow” based on Sadur’s play “The Killed Swallow”.
Sadur’s books were published, in particular, in Finland, Great Britain, Germany, and Japan.
In 2014, Sadur was among the writers and cultural figures who supported the annexation of Crimea. She participated in the 2016 literary festival in Sevastopol.
