Quarantine may be introduced in three regions of Ukraine due to COVID-19 – Kuzin

With the onset of winter in Ukraine, the incidence of COVID-19 is increasing. In three regions, the number of patients has already exceeded the epidemic threshold, where restrictive anti-epidemic measures may be introduced.
This was announced by the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin on the air of the telethon.
According to him, 14 strains of COVID-19 are currently circulating in the territory of our state. The incidence of this disease is increasing. So, over the last week, the number of patients increased by 20%, compared to the previous one.
“Every week in Ukraine, an average of 4,200 patients are hospitalized. Both resuscitation cases and deaths are registered. Over the past week, 56 people, including one child, died of coronavirus infection.” – says the chief sanlikar.

Among all cases of illness, COVID-19 now accounts for up to 35%, Kuzin claims. Children account for almost 50% of cases of coronavirus disease and hospitalizations.
The epidemic threshold has been exceeded in the west and north of Ukraine.
“In three regions of Ukraine, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded. These are the Ternopil, Zhytomyr, and Chernivtsi regions. The indicators there are already higher than the standard for this period. That is, these regions can already introduce certain restrictive anti-epidemic measures.” – stressed Kuzin.
In general, since the beginning of the epidemic season, more than a million Ukrainians have already fallen ill with the flu and coronavirus. Cousin urges Ukrainians to get vaccinated.
