Rating of scientific efficiency of Ukrainian higher education institutions: who is among the leaders

The Center for International Projects “Euroeducation” concluded a rating of the scientific efficiency of Ukrainian universities in 2023.
Him made public on the organization’s website.
The researchers analyzed the participation of universities in Ukrainian and international competitions of scientific projects. In particular, they took into account the number of projects that won competitions:
- HORIZON Europe;
- Erasmus KA2;
- National Research Fund of Ukraine;
- state-ordered projects;
- projects of young scientists;
- bilateral projects.
The 15 most effective universities included:
- Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute;
- Lviv Polytechnic National University;
- Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko;
- Sumy State University;
- Ivan Franko Lviv National University;
- M. E. Zhukovsky National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute”;
- National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine;
- V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;
- National Technical University “Dniprovska Polytechnic”;
- Kyiv National University of Technology and Design;
- Odesa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov;
- King Danylo University;
- Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture and National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (same points);
- Yuri Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University;
- Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology and Odessa State Environmental University (same points).
151 universities have not won any scientific competition, so they have no points in the ranking.
It will be recalled that there are 11 Ukrainian universities got into to the authoritative QS World University Rankings 2024 ranking of universities. Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University scored the most points among them, being in 681-690 positions.
