Scientists have found evidence that a person’s running style can be related to their personality type. This, in particular, applies to “intuitions” and “sensory people”.
Such conclusions were reached by a group of French scientists in their study, published in the scientific journal PLOS One, informs Medical Xpress.
During the experiment, scientists asked 80 adults to run a 50-meter distance three times. Each of them changed speed between runs. All this time they were filmed.
The participants of the experiment also passed the MBTI test, which is used by psychologists to classify personalities. He divides people according to four characteristics:
- thinking – feeling;
- sensorics – intuition;
- thought – perception;
- extraversion – introversion.
Comparing the running styles on the recordings with the test results, the researchers found some patterns. The running of participants with one personality type was similar.
Scientists managed to find the difference between the running of “intuitive” and “sensory” people.
It turned out that people with an intuitive personality type run the most plastically. Their legs are like springs that constantly “stretch” and “contract”.
Meanwhile, people with a sensory personality type were focused on moving forward and reaching the finish line. Therefore, they did not think about how to move their body.
Considering the obtained results, the researchers came to the conclusion that the connection between personal characteristics and running style can really exist.
We will remind, scientists discovered gene variations that increase the risk of obesity in adults by 6 times.
