Russian missile attack on Zaporizhzhia: what is known about the dead family with an 8-month-old girl

On March 2, as a result of a Russian rocket attack on a five-story building in Zaporizhzhia, Kamila and Ilya Furnyka, along with their 8-month-old daughter Emilia, were killed. Kamila’s parents and little Emilia’s godfather waited for news from the rescuers at the entrance for two days, hoping that the young woman, her husband and child would be found alive. Rescuers retrieved the bodies of the couple and the child from under the rubble. The relatives of the victims did not want to believe until the last that the young family was no longer there. “Pain, just pain, ruthlessly ripped out the heart, broke and crippled the soul… A thousand words “for what”??? I waited for 2 days at the entrance, prayed and believed that you would be found alive, why so? Eternal memory and a wound for a lifetime… Light clouds for you, my little and forever smiling girl for me, I’m sorry that you didn’t keep it,” writes Kamila’s godmother Anna. The couple lived for some time in the west of Ukraine. Furniki returned to Zaporizhzhia a few days before the tragedy. It will be recalled that the Russian occupiers carried out an air attack on Zaporozhye on the night of March 2, as a result of which a residential building was damaged. Currently, 13 residents of the apartment building are known to have died. Read also: “Mother was my life”: son’s letter to the dentist who died in the Dnipro
